Having built a strong know-how in healable prepregs, CompPair has now developed HealTech sandwich panels with outstanding healing properties.
Helping companies reach sustainability targets, CompPair’s HealTech technology is a composite material able to repair itself to extend the lifetime of composite parts. The extended portfolio now includes semi-finished products including panels.
HealTech panels demonstrated good repairability on the edges, bumps, and sinking surface dents. The ability to recover the surface and initial panel quality is a crucial need for industrials. HealTech sandwich panels are a first line candidate for use in many applications, namely panels for interior (see our previous Gunboat use case).
With CompPair’s healing method, a heat trigger is needed for a couple of minutes to recover the properties and repair the composite part. During and after this repair, compatible paints are not affected, leaving the part as good as new after the healing. Results demonstrate that the healed and virgin samples keep the same properties – technical graphs can be sent upon request.
